Hello 2019…I’m always a little turned off by the idea of making resolutions, but I also see the benefit of “restarting” your perceptions and goals, so here we go…
Write one blog post a day.
I really want to use this blog as a place for me to flush out certain ideas and share things I think are important to note, or a cool travel spot that is a must see. I will say I think one of my big set backs from writing previously was mostly due to the fact that I hang solo most of the time. I hope that doesn’t hinder me anymore. I’d like to see what kind of potential I have and this blog has.
I am an artist and I need to believe that again. I did a painting for my brother’s wedding and it reminded me how much I really loved being creative and messy. I have been drawing all day, so hopefully I’ll be able to share some finished projects on here over the next 365 days.
3. Care less about work
My report cards would usually read: quiet girl, over-achiever, responsibly to a point of detriment. I think I have a need to prove myself and my worth to others which causes me to do more than I should and care about things that don’t really matter. I work in a pretty high pressure environment, but I don’t need to take it home with me, or express my frustration as much as I do at work. I need to learn to catch myself when I start to feel the bubbling worry grow in my head, and instead realize this day job is not my life. I tell my co-workers not to let a job make you emotionally obligated - I need to take my own advice.
And I think that’s plenty. I obviously want to focus on working out, seeing family more, making time for friends and all that, but I feel like the three I’ve listed are keys to making the other goals more accessible.
What are your goals? Did you achieve what you wanted to in 2018, or are you planning on making a fresh start in 2019? I’d love to hear what you have in store! Be sure to check back everyday for a new post, also please hold me accountable if I don’t!
